Serving the Needs of College Students

Why Join a Life Group?

God created us to be connected…connected with Him and with other believers.  In addition to worshipping with other believers on Tuesday Nights, CCH offers a number of Life Groups for you to choose from to really get connected with other people and in turn, “spur one another on toward love and good deeds” as it says in Hebrews 10:24.

What’s a Life Group?

The Bible says concerning the early church: “Every day they continued to meet together….They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people”  (Acts 2:46-47).

That’s what Life Groups are all about: meeting together with 3-8 other believers, hanging out, snacking (a.k.a. “fellowshipping”), and talking about living life with God.

What kinds of Life Groups are there?

Each Life Group is usually led by two people who meet together on a regular basis to pray and plan their Life Group.  It is at the discretion of these two individuals that each Life Group gets its direction.

Some Life Groups are outreach-minded.  These Life Groups are led by believers with the intention to attract non-believers, engaging them in intelligent and thought-provoking discussions and studies in order to gently and lovingly share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with them.

Some Life Groups are community-minded.  These Life Groups function as a means by which people can get to know one another on a deeper personal and spiritual level as they study God’s Word or a Christian book together.

Any Other Details I Should Know?

Life Groups normally meet on Monday, Wednesday, or Thursday evenings.  There are Freshmen, Men’s, Women’s, and Co-Ed Life Groups to choose from.

Topics of study range from books of the Bible such as 1 & 2 Corinthians, Acts, and Paul’s Epistles to Christian Living books such as Point Man, Captivating, Authentic Beauty, and God’s Gift to Women to sharing life experiences and searching God’s Word for insight and direction on specific issues such as depression, loneliness, sexual purity, relationships, and busyness.

We pray you can find a level of depth that is appropriate for where you are at in your walk with the Lord, whether you are not sure what to think of Jesus, or you are a new believer, or have grown up under the Lordship of Christ for most of your life.  If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to email heather@cchtrine.org.
